How did I get Here?

After graduating from cosmetology school I went to work in a small full service salon. Unfortunately most of the patrons were manicure clients and I wanted acrylics to be my specialty. The experience gave me the opportunity to get my feet wet and to learn the everyday in and outs of salon business. After a year I moved to a nail salon with five nail techs and these techs offered something that nail school couldn’t… experience, and tons of it! The motto of the salon was that artificial enhancements should look like natural nails not like …well artificial claws.   The owner also started her own acrylic line and I became part of the education team. The company serviced the tri-state area and our local cosmetology schools. What I found was that I loved sharing my techniques and knowledge with the students. When I first started in the business I thought…how long can I sit behind a nail table and do this? Being able to mentor technicians and student has opened doors that I never imagined. Not only have I met some of my best friends and colleges but I have had the opportunity to travel the world (14 countries to date).

I have now worked as a licensed nail technician in the US for more than 18 years, providing top-notch, unbiased education to technicians nationally and internationally for over ten years. In the salon I take pride in delivering quality work to my clientele ranging from a simple manicure to crazy custom design sculptured nails. This dedication to my clients has led me to be the recipient of various awards, including Educator of the Year, Artist of the Year and first runner up in Nail Magazine’s 2006 Artists & Visionaries Awards “Nail Technician of the Year” and the coveted “Nail Technician of the Year” in 2007. Not only can my work frequently be seen in Nail Magazine’s “Nail Art Studio” but I also contribute my professional knowledge and expertise to articles featured in nail publications.
